Summary & Opinion
The "Your Guide to Digital Photography" digital eBook download by Dan Feildman is a great premium guide for digital photography for beginners and people looking for better results from their digital photography. As an avid photography hobbyist I really enjoyed this particular eBook. The 75 page guide (yes - 75 pages!) includes some great advice for all levels of photography.
From beginners to avid hobbyists, like myself, you can learn a lot of new tricks and tips to improve your photography just one more notch - and the eBook will definitely get you thinking about taking pictures all the time - and the mode photos you take the better and more refined your skills become.
There's even 6 additional freebies totaling over 150 pages of photography tips and tricks and 9 instructional videos!
A 37 page report, "photography quick tips" with some great chapters on night, action, fog, waterfall and sunset photography. I had a bit of experience with fireworks, having shot them a few times, but I have to say, Feldman's tips on sports photography and rain photography were new to me and I have managed to improve my overall skills.
To be good at photography - you don't have to be good at everything. Although it does help to give everything a try and this Quick Tips book is a great blueprint to exploring different areas of photography.
There's also 8 Video of Picasa tutorials. Picasa is a free software from Google that is wonderful for people who are new to photography or looking for an easy way to organize their digital photos. There's also a third additional guide book that answers 20 common digital photography questions.
The digital photography guide answers common questions like:
- How to decide is a picture is worth taking?
- What is hyper focal distance?
- How to take a picture with both strong sun and shade.
- How to take good pictures in the snow or on the beach
There's also a 12 page guide showing how your camera settings work with each other. This bare bones guide takes a single subject (a house) and tweaks settings to show you how they all work together! (Makes it seem so obvious that I wonder why my teacher in high schools spent two weeks on it!
There's also a video guide to buying a digital camera. I didn't much care for this part since I'm in love with my camera - my D70s and I know exactly what I would get to replace it.
There's another quick guide (a little 6 pager) on night, city night and astral photography. It has some great basic settings to try and start out from when you're shooting at night.
All of the files are viewable on Mac or PC and use PDFs and Flash Videos so all the software to download is available free from Adobe.com (you probably already have a PDF reader and a flash player installed on your computer!)
I like Feldman's writing style, where as I am usually a fan of Scott Kelby's Fluff and humor - I thought Feldman's straight to the point made these a valuable resource and reference after I'd read them. Much like my camera's manual!
The whole package of eBooks and videos can be downloaded immediately upon purchase, so there is no wait for someone to ship it or [remember] to email it to you after they process your transaction. If you are new to online downloads, full step-by-step instructions are included.
